I just promoted someone on my team.

She started here making $15 an hour.

Doing design work. Nothing glamorous. Nothing that was going to make her rich fast.

HERE IS WHAT PEOPLE MISS...

She showed up then... the exact same way she shows up now making six figures.

Nobody told her to go above and beyond.

Nobody bribed her to care.

That was just... who she is.

And here is what I told my team when we announced it...

We never had a meeting about giving her a raise. We never had a performance review where she asked for more. We just kept coming to HER... because we couldn't imagine not having her around.

That's the whole thing right there.

Most people are out here waiting.

Waiting to be told what to do. Waiting for the right opportunity. Waiting until something is on the line before they turn it on.

And then they wonder why they keep getting passed over.

I read something in Matthew 25 this morning...

The story of three guys who were each given something to work with. Two of them got after it immediately. Didn't wait for a manual. Didn't wait to see what the reward was going to be. They just moved... because moving was who they were.

The third guy buried it.

He was scared. He was protecting. He was waiting.

He basically told the master, I figured you would just take the profits anyway, so there was nothing in it for me.

The line that got me was this... "to everyone who HAS, more shall be given."

But the "has" there isn't about money.

It's about energy. It's about character.

Do you have the character to create and multiply regardless of reward?

THAT is what attracts more.

It is an energy. A way of being.

Who you are when nothing is on the line yet.

Ariel wasn't performing for a promotion.

She was just... being Ariel. That is why she is a SIX FIGURE GRAPHIC DESIGNER NOW.

(Not very many of those in the world of A.I., and I could have the greatest A.I. designers in the world and won't be giving up Ariel.)

Here is the question worth sitting with today.
