We all have that uncomfortable conversation we have been sitting on for too long...

Too long might be a day, an hour, or years.

Someone you need to deliver bad news to, give feedback to, or possibly even remove from your life.

Every time you're around them you feel it sitting in your chest... and you just find something else to talk about.

I had one of those this week.

I always found a reason to push it one more day. Too busy. Wrong timing. Maybe it works itself out.

I'll wait until after "XYZ"...

But it wasn't going to work itself out.

It never does.

Here's the thing about avoiding truth... it stops progress for EVERYONE. You just sit there in the same spot until someone has the courage to say the real thing.

God doesn't create from the good version of things. He starts from the dark and formless version... the true version. Sees it exactly as it is and then speaks into it. That's where creation starts. Not from pretending it's already good... from telling the truth about what it actually is.

The conversation we avoid might be dark and uncomfortable.

But nothing gets made until you open your mouth.

I made that call this week...

I don't know how it's going to turn out. That part isn't mine to control. But truth is where it starts.

Avoiding it stops everything.
